HP was founded in 1934 by the American Stanford students
William Hewlett and David Packard.
The company stared at the HP Garage which is today conidered the birthplace of the Silicon Valley.
The first product was the audio oscillator HP 200A sold to the Walt Disney studios.
Today the HP Garage and the house in front of it are a California Landmark and a Museum.
The logo appears, more or less, as it has since the beginning of the company.
The HP brand mark consists of a rectangular shaped box, surrounding a lower case and sans serif, “h” and “p.” Over the years the HP logo has gone through many small evolutions, changes in colors and omission of the surrounding cercle or box.
HP is one of the most performant Technology Companies in the World.
One of the many signs is the fact
that Hewlett Packard was one of the very first companies
to register an Internet Domain
and the very first one to register a Two Letter Domain.
In fact
HP.com was registered march 3 1986,
at a time "nobody" knew about the Internet.
Hewlett Packard is the n°1 on the VB.com Internet Hall of Fame.
1992 William Hewlett inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in Akron.
The Hall includes nearly 500 Inventors from a period of over 3 centuries
including the founders of other companies on the VB.com Fame List
like Thomas Edison founder of (GE), or Amar Bose founder of (Bose).
